Melsa Coop

Melsa COOP is a cooperative hotel complex located in the center of Nessebar, a Bulgarian town which has been named as a Museum Town and an architectural reserve of national importance, thus included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The hotel employs 40 people. The Central Cooperative Union (CCU) of Bulgaria owns this hotel and four other – three by Black Sea Coast, one on the mountains and an urban hotel for congress tourism. According to CCU, it is becoming a yearly tradition to organise study visits for representatives of European national cooperative organisations. This is an opportunity to share experiences, good practices and to get a deeper knowledge of local cooperatives.
Tourism Attractiveness 
The location is very attractive, first of all because Nessebar was announced as a Museum Town and architectural reserve of national importance. Secondly because of the history – the hotel complex “Melsa COOP” is located very close to the Old Town of Nessebar, which is included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO.
How we promote cooperatives’ values and culture 
The hotel complex is created, renovated and managed by the Central Coopeartive Union on the basis of the cooperative values and principles. Bothconsumers and holders of membership card benefit from various discounts for their family holidays.
