The Cooperative Terra Promessa was born from the entrepreneurial idea which inspired the Association Consortium founded by Dr. Gilberto Perri " ACU " - Christian Humanitarian Action, a Christian social system launched in Gallico (Reggio Calabria) and developed in other Italian provinces and regions. The aim was and is to develop a virtuous model which creates opportunities of employement for new generations. Today ACU has over 200 employees all over Italy in the fields of bulding, elderly assistance, children care, travel experiences. Terra Promessa is the result of a Christian mission which aims at pursuing the generational shifts.This system guarantees efficiency and functionality, through a process of osmosis within the entrepreneurial and associative firms belonging to ACU. They provide each other functional cooperation and mutual support in the various stages of business activities, thus ensuring stability, reliability, solidity and more competitive prices in their respective markets. For this reason it can ensure promotional rates and other benefits to their customers.
The President Moscato Palma has been undertaking for years the creation of Tourist Packages in English and French languages, also for institutional Portals of the Municipality of Reggio Calabria, such as Passport to Europe. Terra Promessa today collaborates in the REGIONAL INTEGRATION WITH OTHER PROJECTS all over Calabria against DEPOPULATION (PISL in Vibo Valentia Area), working with other Cooperatives from all over Calabria. They work together for the promotion and marketing of accommodation facilities with particular attention to disabled, visually impaired and hearing impaired. It is now creating a Museal Network within a project promoted by the Calabria Region. It deals with the creation, positioning and sale of integrated tourist packages for social, cultural and gastronomic tourism to promote the region. The President Moscato Palma was also speaker and author in the AGCI seminar entitled: " The cooperative management of extra-hotel accommodation" The evolution of hospitality in Hostel. From mere low cost structures to those offering a wide range of services " BITAC 2011 COOPERATIVE TOURISM EXCHANGE – Florence. In 2013 she was also speaker and author of the Seminar entitled "Tourism as a Development Engine" in Nicotera (VV). On that occasion, Terra Promessa also edited the graphics for the the campaign.
How we promote cooperatives’ values and culture
Terra Promessa’s members today work together with other cooperatives all over Calabria to promote the history, culture and values of cooperatives. We believe that cooperatives can be a positive means of reaction against depopulation of southern regions of Italy. It can be a valid instrument to promote equal opportunities projects. Terra Promessa is involved in socio-cultural events and social, cultural and gastronomic tourist packages which promote Calabria's cultural richness, with particular attention to disabled, visually impaired and hearing impaired.
The administrative board members of Terra Promessa have also been experiencing the coordination of a system of over 20 Italian Cooperatives, ACU- Azione Cristiana Umanitaria.
They also managed other cooperatives and promoted the birth of new ones as a result of Spin-Offs. They experienced the building and management of two youth Hostels, Bethel Emmaus, which were built in Reggio Calabria on a 25,000 square meters land confiscated to the mafia.
The President Moscato Palma was also invited as a speaker in the AGCI seminar entitled: " The cooperative management of extra-hotel accommodation" The evolution of hospitality in Hostel.
